The Coinage of James I

  1611 Sixpence of James I

1611 Sixpence
good Fine

This is the only one of this particularly popular date I have had the pleasure of owning, and only the second I have seen offered. The other was in quite a bit lower grade and went on eBay for around $160.00.

This is a popular date as it is the year the King James version of the Bible was commissioned.

This is quite a nice little silver, with some weakness on James' shoulder, with corresponding weak area on the reverse.
A reasonable portrait, with strong crown and ruff detail.  The reverse is nice with a very strong date.  Attractive toning as well.
